Newbie startups fly HIGH and then fall hard! Here’s why.

  1. Half-Heartedness
  2. Impatience
  3. Greed
  4. Hesitance

The initial enthusiasm is dope. I get it. You just can’t get enough of that overwhelming feeling. New entrepreneurs aren’t even halfway there, and they already have a change of heart. They realize it’s easy to be a self-proclaimed entrepreneur. You become someone else — a better version of yourself. But there’s a catch. The entrepreneurship road is long and dusty. You have to make sacrifices. Either you are totally in, or you are out.

The best business advice I’ve ever received in my life actually came from the person I expected the least — my local car mechanic.

My dear freelance friend, this brilliant piece should be (re)published on Hacker Noon. My humble word of advice.

I’m very pessimistic about the future of content marketing. Why?

Well, you can tell by the way I promote my gigs
I’m a freelance man, no time for bids
High fees and clients cold, I’ve been kicked around
Since my Upwork account was born
And it’s not alright, it’s not okay
And you may try to do things the other way
We can try to understand

Do you know what the most important thing in freelancing is?

The First Class Freelancers From the Third World Countries

The small icon of your national flag next to your profile is the most powerful thing in our freelance universe. You will be judged, selected, and paid based on your flag’s colors, first and foremost.

If you want different results, then you have to do things differently.

Here are some of my favorite ”unusual” strategies. I am not saying that they may work for you, but try it and see for yourself whether they are good or not.

I don’t follow the freelance herd!

I stay away from the biggest and most popular freelance websites. Why? I think that these mega-size platforms are both overcrowded and overrated. Instead, I am for the smaller and more independent online marketplaces where clients know exactly what they want. That’s why you can find me working exclusively on goLance. …

I took Latin in high school. To be quite honest, I wasn’t thrilled about it. Later, I become annoyed by people who liked to show off with their knowledge of Latin phrases. I mean, what’s the point? You have to Google like crazy just to figure out what has someone tried to say. The easiest way to put it is in plain and simple English. Why bother?

California knows how to party, but does California know how to freelance?

I reflect on California Assembly Bill 5 from the safe distance of my third world country. I enjoy my tax-cozy life as a freelance outlaw to the fullest. One of my freelance buddies from India says this is Karma at work. He’s emotionally compromised. He just can’t let go of an article where some CA freelancer bragged about making six figures with no sweat.

Run To The Hills, Run For Your Freelance Lives

A personal fun fact. I…

Oh, my dear Upwork

We used to have beautiful moments

But you ruined it all

When you made me pay for connects

Oh, my dear Upwork

You brought me down

To my freelance knees

When you doubled your fees

Oh, my dear Upwork

You become all about the profit

When I bid too much

You closed my account in a heartbeat

Oh, my dear Upwork

I still believe

There’s romance in freelance

That’s why I moved to goLance

Oh, my dear Upwork

In the freelance universe

There are so many planets

On goLance no cost to my clients

Oh, my dear Upwork

I pay a lower fee

On goLance they let me be

To bid is absolutely free

Oh, my dear Upwork

What goes up

Must go down on stock exchange

Guess that’s Bad Karma’s revenge
